The Trainers

Lynn Grenci
Owner-Operator & Trainer

Lynn Grenci holds an AS in Animal Medical Technology as well as a BS in Animal Science from the University of Maine. She is a licensed Veterinary Technician and worked as a vet tech for over twenty years. Lynn has decades worth of animal handling experience that she brings to The Polite Canine.

Lynn's veterinary medicine background informs her approach to dog training. She knows that an animal's physical health and diet can contribute to their mental state, and takes a holistic approach to solving behavioral problems. When evaluating a dog she considers their breed genetics, nutritional diet, potential ailments & health issues, as well as environmental factors. Lynn's education in the topics of animal psychology and physiology are applied in her work with every client she meets with.

Lynn is the former owner-operator of multiple small businesses, including Bow WOW! Services, a canine behavior consulting and pet sitting business, and Bow WOW! Bakery which sold dog & cat treats, birthday cakes, and custom treats for dogs with allergies. Lynn has an entrepreneurial spirit and the business experience to back it up. Her professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills are attributes that clients compliment her on the most.

Over the years Lynn has trained dozens of dogs on a range of behavioral problems, including dog to dog aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, noise phobia, and low confidence. She has also trained dogs from basic to advanced obedience, agility, and therapy work. Of the dogs who have influenced her life, Dani, Diesel, Tiger, and above all, Lola, have had a tremendous impact on her training know-how and taught her more than any book or class could have.

Kim Stoll
Trainer

Kim Stoll has taught diverse audiences in a variety of settings, and applies the lessons she’s learned in clear communication and supportive instruction to her lessons with dog owners. Kim has studied canine behavior and training techniques & theories, and is always seeking continued education opportunities through workshops and seminars.

Kim shadowed at sol.DOG Canine Services here in Tucson where she assisted with daycamp and pack socials, as well as group classes and board & trains. This opportunity, along with an internship at Pima Animal Care Center and involvement as a board member & foster for a local rescue group, gave her valuable hands on experience and allowed her to grow her knowledge of canine behavior & body language.

She currently owns four dogs, which each participate in a variety of activities including obedience, rally-o, agility, and nosework. Each of her four dogs came to her with socialization or behavioral needs, which contributes to her passion for helping dogs find balance and develop trusting relationships with their people.

Philosophy & Methods

Living with your dog should be a pleasure. We will help you achieve a harmonious household and a balanced relationship with your pet. In order to bring balance to your canine companion, we will work with you to set clear boundaries and fair expectations, as well as discover healthy outlets for their energy and drive.

Why in-home pet training? Most problem behaviors occur in or around the house, and are a part of the dog’s daily life & routine. We want to change those behaviors at the source.

We believe that there is no one-size fits all approach to dog training. Because of this, we use a variety of methods and tools, and shape our approach based on the dog’s needs. Each dog is an individual with different motivations and learning styles, just like people. Training your pet shouldn’t be a battle! We will work with your dog to find what motivates him or her, and use positive reinforcement to create an eager to learn participant.
